The 3yo have the option for dismissal at 1 or 3. There is a waitlist for aftercare.

Says who? Our kids go outside all year. It is important that kids experience all elements. Just make sure you dress your kid appropriately. Also, DC hasn't exactly been Alaska in winter last few years.

I got in there and went to a mandatory parent orientation. The physical space was a turn-off to me as well, but also the fact that the programming for PS-3 is only half the day, until 1 or so. That being said, I heard from another friend of mine, who runs a Montessori charter, that they do run a legitimate Montessori program, if that is important to you. Our neighborhood school is much more convenient and the preschoolers have a full day of class.

Our daughter is starting there this Fall. I toured the facility and thought it was great, just a bit awkward in location at first. The administration seems wonderful and parent reviews are overwhelmingly positive. It is a temporary location and given the fact they are adding a grade every year, I am happy to start with them now and follow them to a more long term space where they said they are placing an outdoor adjacent space as high priority. For now, they are using the rec center down the street as an outdoor space for the kids. We also arent doing after care so this might be different for us.
Also, we just found out our daughter's teacher is named Ms. Prim. It made me laugh it was so cute on paper. Not relevant I know but still....lol

I have searched, but there just doesn't seem to be as many parents here as from some of the other charters such at Creative Minds, LAMB, Stokes, etc. Or maybe I am not working the search function properly. But we are considering it.

Do a search -- there was another thread a few months ago. It sounds like a nice place.
