MY absolute favorite. FYI: The recommended age is 8-12. However, I just bought the series for my 7 year old niece, and we read it together.
The students in my class are HOOKED to this series! It would make a great a movie(s!)

My 7yr old DD is about to finish reading the appro 15 or so Roald Dahl books (Charlie & Choco factory, Matilda, Fantastic Mr. Fox, BFG etc) and wanted to introduce her to authors with similar or a notch higher level of language maturity/complexity. Any recommendations? Preferably an author who's written many books so we don't have to go author-hunting again soon. She reads approx 100 pages pr day during the summer school break.
