Vme Kids on Fios--not sure if it's officially PBS, but it has mostly PBS programs like Barney and Sesame Street (Plaza Sesamo) in Spanish. I think it's 1721 (maybe, something up there). DD watches at her Spanish-speaking grandparents, probably a little more than I'd like, but everything I've seen seems pretty good for the 2-4 year old set, without the attitude and "extreme" of Disney.

Oh, thank goodness. I thought this was a name poll! In case anyone else is considering I will offer my opinion that Chuggington is a very very bad name for a baby.

The linked article made me laugh, but I remember babysitting Thomas loving kids when all the engines were male, all the cars were female, and the job of the engines was to lead the "silly" cars around and ignore their "giggling" and "whining" since none of the female characters could talk. It doesn't really surprise me that the show still has a ways to go.

My son doesn't like either. He finds Thomas boring and so do it. Chuggington is the same thing over and over, always a plot about delivering ice cream. He likes to play with wooden trains, but not watch the TV shows - he's a Cat in the Hat guy.

My DD found Thomas on the Spanish PBS channel and loves it, so now every train is "Tomas!" Maybe he's not so creepy if its language learning too? Disney Jr has not yet made an appearance in our house, but I'm sure its inevitable.

Ugh, I hate Thomas. It has super creepy subtext. I'll take Chuggington any day of the week.

I prefer Thomas. Sprout = OK. Disney = Not OK.

Thomas when we need a chill out show (zzzzz...).
Chuggington when kiddo is more active.

I agree Thomas is less annoying....but the heart wants what the heart wants.

LOL, my DS is now obsessed with Chuggington and doesn't like Thomas anymore. I actually miss Thomas....Chuggington is way more annoying...
