Op here, i dont need a parish that actively SUPPORTS gay marriage, choice, etc but I need one that won't make me feel like I am the devil for my beliefs.

+1. OLQP and St. Charles are probably the two most liberal Catholic churches in the diocese, both with a bent towards social justice. Not sure where you'll find a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage parish though!

You will have more luck finding the holy grail. There's a reason why Holy Trinity in Georgetown has tons of NOVA families.

OP, I'm in your boat exactly. We haven't had luck with anything in NOVA (Arlington diocese is known as one of the strictest in the nation), but we are going to check out Holy Trinity in Georgetown-progressive friends of ours go there and like it.

Arlington surprisingly does not have many (if any) liberal parishes. Many of the more liberal Catholics I know attend Episcopal services.

I'm not sure but I imagine some of the Catholic Churches in Arlington might be more liberal than Fairfax County.

Oh and we also believe in evolution! hahhaa... some of you will ask why we are catholic. We believe all the other teachings and want to continue the tradition of Catholicism in the family.

We are Catholic, but support gay marriage, use of birth control, IVF, we are pro-choice liberals. Is there a Catholic church where we would fit in? We live near Fairfax. Thanks!
