Milk, soy milk, almond milk- all are too watery for my coffee. So I feel you on that. I just can't make those work, especially because I like my coffee strong and dark. I just use heavy cream. You need only a small amount to make the coffee "light" enough (I use probably 1-1.5 tbsp between two cups in the morning- this is at most 75 calories). Swap your sugar out as well- I use packets of Truvia, which is a zero calorie sweetener made from Stevia, so no calories like sugar, but no chemicals like other no-calorie sweeteners.

Almond milk tastes like sock water. Seriously gross.
Get fresh roasted / ground coffee. Seriously. I don't do it often (keep meaning to), but every time I've had fresh roasted/ground coffee I need FAR less creamer/sugar because the coffee is just far better.
Also try iced coffee, perhaps flavored. I put a decent amount of whole milk in, but need much less sugar than I normally put in hot coffee.
It might be too much to switch from sugar to artificial sweeteners all at once, so try this: part sugar, part artificial sweeteners. That should be do-able, right? Also, start gradually blending the cream or half-&-half with skim milk. Do it gradually, and don't be too hard on yourself - any progress is progress!
my dh slowly cut back on the amount of sugar he put in until he got to the point that he doesn't add sugar anymore. still uses cream or half and half. you could try the same strategy for that as well.
you could also try flavored coffees so that you're not adding any calories after you brew it for sweetners

Sorry, I know that's not really what you are asking... but the prevelence of "darker roasts" these days (i.e. Starbucks and Peets) does perpetrate this.
I know, some ppl prefer cream/milk in their coffee, just as with tea. But if you are trying to cut calories/fat, maybe try a lighter roast "black" coffee. You might like it.
Coffee is my sleep. 3-4 cups per day. I put huge helpings of half and half in it plus 2 teaspoons of sugar. Its killing my diet.
What do you all do to lighten up your coffee? Using 2% milk just isn't the same. I was thinking about using sweetened condensed milk. 1 TBSP has 55 calories. Or non-dairy creamer plus sugar? Although that kind of tastes like nursing home coffee. I do like cinnamon in my coffee.
