PP here with the explanation above - not according to our vet. She showed me how to apply it in those spots.

It depends on how large/long your dog is. We have a Lab and the vet has us put it between his shoulder blades and down his spine to a spot right before his tail.

I know of more than one dog who got the Lyme vaccine and STILL got Lyme. I talked to the vet about it, after hearing this, and the vet confirmed that the vaccine isn't as sure and certain as other vaccines. And it's still really important to use a flea/tick preventative.

Frontline is great. When my dogs are on that they are tickless, and I never find any in the house. Without it, they are crawling on my kitchen floor. Huge difference.

My vet admitted that the vaccine is not entirely effective for Lyme. He doesn't push it at all the way many others do. If you have to get it every year, it can't be that effective.

We rely on preventing tick bites as a way of dealing with the threat of LD.

Frontline should only be applied in one spot though - between the shoulder blades.

I hate putting chemicals on the dog, but Lyme is horrible and it is everywhere in this area.

Frontline Plus, applied to the head; between the shoulder blades, and near the butt just before bedtime (so that no one touches the dog for hours after application).

We also give him a bath 2 days later (earliest time you can bathe the dog)

What do you do to protect your dog from bringing in ticks to the house? Worried about lyme disease!
