Some people say that it's the higher quality wine that will do fine in the freezer.

For one night, it's probably not even noticeable.

We did that once at a friend's house. She lived on the border of a questionable neighborhood, and when the bottle froze it broke with a loud bang. We thought it was a gunshot and got really scared for about 10 minutes, until we realized what it was! LOL!!! Then we really needed the other bottle of wine that we hadn't frozen!!!

If worse comes to worse and it tastes off add fruit, sparkling water, and sugar and you have white sangria or clericot. Peaches would be nice.

Agreed, I have done this a number of times, let it thaw, and you likely will not notice a difference, and if you do, it shouldn't be ruined.

Yeah, it's fine. It'll taste a little off but not terrible or anything, and it's certainly not spoiled or anything like that.

OP here. I bought it on a whim while picking up dinner at the store and they didn't have any chilled. I threw it in the freezer to have a glass after DS went to bed. By the time I got DS down, and ate dinner (with caffeine instead of wine) DH had texted me that his parents were coming over tonight for dinner. Looked around our place and realized how messy it was so I ended up spending the next 1.5 hours cleaning. By then I had totally forgotten that I'd even bought a bottle of wine! Plus I'm running on very little sleep (thanks DS!) so my brain is functioning at about half capacity.

Op here...I won't lie I tried a little piece of the ice sticking out of the bottle. It was a VERY strong wine tasting bit of wine slushy haha. Oh well, I guess I"ll just have to pour myself a glass tonight. Although honestly, with the way this day is going with a very cranky, overtired, and teething DS, I might be pouring a glass before DH gets home!

Want to kick myself. Splurged and bought a moderately expensive bottle of white wine last night. Planned to have a glass last night so put it in the freezer to chill. Ended up forgetting about it until I opened the freezer this morning. Cork had popped out and the bottle was partially frozen. UGH. Wine bottle isn't cracked and some stuff I read online said you can just defrost it in the fridge and drink it. Others say the wine is ruined. Has this happened to anyone? Am I out of luck?
