Never.

Then some office nut will decide you are his fantasy girl and stalk or harass you.

Who the hell has office pool parties ?

I wouldn't. Nothing to do with body image. I work hard to stay in shape and proudly rock a bathing suit at pool or beach. . I just don't think it's appropriate for an office party. I would probably wear a sundress.

nope. we also have a work pool party about once a year at a senior person's house. boss puts on his suit and a bunch of people swim. i prefer to sit poolside with my legs in the water. i'm not particularly body-conscious, i just don't want to socialize in my suit,

Yeah, I would wear a one piece with running shorts on over the bottom. It would not be my favorite, but I'd do it.

Huh. OP here. My old office has an annual party at a partner's home that has a pool. Fun for the kids, etc. I guess my head is in the sand then.

Now, I work with mostly women, although a handful of harmless older men (over 55) and some men in their 30s. I would have no issue wearing a bathing suit (no bikinis though, not that I wear one regularly anyway).

I never would. I fear I wouldn't get taken seriously at the office after that.

I would never wear a bathing suit to an office party for the same reasons I do not wear sexy or revealing dresses to office-related evening functions.

I wouldn't. I hate my body and don't think my colleagues need to see me at my worst.

My SIL is very self conscious about being in a bathing suit. For the record, she is not hugely overweight (although she is dieting) but she is very body self conscious. (Eg refuses to wear tank tops, etc). Personally I think she looks fine, but I understand she has her issues. Anyway, this got DH and I talking about the women he knows (through work) who say they would never wear a bathing suit to an office pool party. It's a big place (biglaw) so lots of co workers you don't already know, etc. I thought it was the craziest thing I'd ever heard! I know I don't have a super hot body, but I have no issue wearing a bathing suit.

So now I'm curious: would you wear a bathing suit to an office party? And, can you say what the demographics of your office are (mostly male, mostly female). And what's your reasoning?
