I think USAA had A++ superior. We were also looking for 25 year and not 30 or 20. At 25, it'll be enough to cover the kids through college and a little more time to straighten our finances and only USAA and SBLI had 25 years. I would also call the insurance company of insurance to ask for about the tier below in which they would give you. I heard they would give you the best rate only to find out you don't qualify for that, so I would get the rate they offer and the rate below to get a better idea of coverage. We decided not to go with term life insurance the federal government would have given us because they were a lot more expensive. Good luck!

P.S. I would also check out Waepa if you are federal.

We do get it through work and can add but not until open enrollment and kind of looked like a hassle. Got an add from AAA. It looked kind of pricy but will check it out.

Term4sale.com

They sell software to insurance companies, not policies to individuals, so the site is remarkably unobtrusive and crap-free.

Often term life is offered through any of your professional associations (any bars?); national associations (AAA usually offers it); AARP offers it but you are probably too young; does your work offer anything? I picked up some term life for a song through the American Bar Association. Even my college has affiliations with agents who will try to get you a group rate by going back through your college or professional school.

Are there any particular sites you recommend? Looking for something on top of our work sponsored plan now that we have a child. Want to make sure the surviving partner would be able to stay in the house etc.
