How old are you? Gender?

Hormone fluctuations can cause these issues. Menopause and postpartum can definitely cause it.

Migraines could be from low magnesium memory can be related to lack of other nutrients or poor sleep habits.
The internist can help you figure that out as well as refer you to a specialist for the issues.

I was actually treated for a magnesium deficiency about 6 months ago, after having a terrible stomach virus. My sleep habits are not good, I'm lucky to get maybe 5 hours a night...

Thanks! I'll ask by GYN if she can refer me to an internist. I know they have them (Medical Faculty Associates)

I wouldn't go so far as to calling my headaches migranes. They are very slight headaches, not even rising to the point to where I have needed to take advil or anything. I'm just getting to be really forgetful lately (forgetting people's names, etc.)

You should ultimately get yourself an internist. if you wait until there's a problem you miss out on preventative care.

Thanks! I didn't even think about that. I actually have a GYN appointment next week, so I'll ask her about it.

Neurologist? For my migraines, I was referred to one. An internist might help you sort through what is going on and give the right referral. Headaches can be related to periods, so you could even go to your gyn and see whom she recommends. I have gotten nongyn related referrals from my gyn when I mentioned nongyn problems to her in passing.

Memory issues might need a referral to a neuropsych, but i'd discuss it with the doc first. Most people's neuropsych coverage is not that great.

Both problems could have many different causes - an internist might be good as a first step to narrow things down.

I don't have a primary care physician, I've always just gone to Patients First Urgent Care if I have a non-GYN related problem. (I don't need referrals with my insurance plan)
