and it's really not good advice to always wear a suit to every interview. it really depends on the job, the company, etc. know your audience.
i work in a casual environment, and if someone turned up for an interview in a suit and hose that would be a minus for them (would make people here think they are a bad fit for the office, culture-wise).

I wore a skirt and shirt, carried the suitjacket with me. Packed hose in my purse Got on Metro. Stopped at Starbucks right by the office (bought a bottle of water so not to look like a jerk or a homeless person), and put the hose on in the Starbucks bathroom.
No runs in the hose and I didn't melt walking to and from the train. Just give yourself a few extra minutes for your pitstop. Any coffee or sandwich shop would work.
I did something similar 5 years ago in July, when it was 90+ degrees. Agree with PPs that you should wear hose if you are wearing a suit (and you should be wearing a suit).

Flex schedules, anything goes in terms of attire (khakis, polos, jeans, etc). Women who work there will typically wear a skirt with bare legs and sandals or capris with wedge sandals.
Do I need to wear a suit for an interview? I don't own one. Would dress pants and a nice blouse/sweater be okay?
