I was supposed to have an in person interview with Hewitt Associates. They never sent directions and didn't return my phone call. This happened to me TWICE with them.

I had a Northrop Grumman manager fail to show up -- I took off a half-day and I sat around waiting for an hour. I took myself out of consideration for the position.

Ah, not surprised though.

OP here. They didn't even call or email to apologize.

By the way, it was BAH. Just so you know how decent they are.

Same thing -- really, down to the details -- happened to me once for a paralegal position at a law firm. It was the fault of the HR coordinator, who was flaky.

P.S. I had another job offer. I'm not that crazy!

I know someone who went on an interview where the interviewer was rude and obnoxious - can't remember exactly what she said he said or did. He was used to interviewees putting up with it because they wanted a job but instead of letting it drag on, she abruptly ended the interview. She politely said that she could see that it would not work out, thanked him for his time and left.

I had scheduled a phone interview with someone then had to unexpectedly miss work and completely forgot about it. I did apologize and reschedule as soon as I was back at work however. How long has it been? Is it possible the person forgot and then went on vacation? If it has been many weeks then I'd just chalk it up to them not having the guts to tell you they're no longer interested.

Had it happen for an in-person interview. The person went out to lunch and didn't call to reschedule or cancel ahead of time. It was for an internship and it just seemed like the organization didn't give two shits about it. That was weird considering it was a social services org that could use all the help it could get. A friend of mine ended up working for them and I told her what happened and she was shocked.
