it's a new model for legal services. basically so a company doesn't have to pay as much money to their traditional firms.

i heard one of the founders speak at a conference. interesting model. the audience was primarly general counsels and they were definitely intrigued. i am not a lawyer, btw.

I don't get it. It's a temp agency or a placement agency or some new creation?

Not a law firm for sure. Like a placement agency for highly qualified lawyers whose careers got off track because of the economy.

My brotheri was hired by them and they were very enthusiastic. That was a few months ago but they still haven't placed him or given him a timeline either. In the meantime he's not yet eligible for benefits. Very opaque. He's been actively looking for other options in the meantime.

Is it a placement service or a law firm?

I reached out to them when I lost my biglaw job and they were pretty picky about new hires.

How so?

Didn't even want to consider your resume unless they had already heard of you; as in, don't call us, we'll call you. Then again, this was a few years ago.

I believe you still get benefits even if you're not working but I'm not sure how much (if at all) they pay an employer contribution towards health insurance.

Exactly how long did it take your friend to get staffed?

I think it was three months or so.

They pay towards health insurance, but you only get benefits when you actually start working. Heard it takes a while to get started.

I signed up with them a few months ago as I transition from SAHM, but still have not been placed. We get benefits from my husbands job, so that's not a worry.

Bloomberg had a video today about Axiom law. Anyone have any experience with this company/firm/temp agency?
