I'd rather work five short days to be home when the kids are home.

I work 9 to 3pm, M-F.
I have to leave before the kids do in the mornings, but I get home in time to greet them when they get home from school. Works out well. They won't get into shenanigans in the mornings.

2 elementary school, 3 middle school.

I work about 25 hours a week, Mon - Thurs., 9-3 and then I check email on Friday. Sometimes the hours shift to account for pick-up or drop off. I have 1 kid in elementary school, one kid in pre-school. The pre-schooler does not go in on Fridays unless I really need it. I love the hours.

4 days regular hours. considering most of us work 5 days regualr hours

I am the mom of elementary school aged kids. I have been a stay at home parent and am about to go back to work. I may have the ability to work part time in my new job, and I would appreciate input from those who work PT what schedule works best for them and their family - work 4 days a week, regular hours - or 5 days a week, leaving at 3pm - or some other version?
