He is sitting on a hoard of money (millions) and my mom had to have an epic melt down to get their 1970s kitchen remodeled. He drives a honda civic!!! He puts the owner of Ikea to shame. I'm shocked he has 2ply toilet paper. He wears old shoes and buys jeans from Wal-mart!!!
He does spend on a membership to Congressional, extravagant travel, and education spending is unlimited.
PP,
In my experiences, those who are in the upper brackets STAY THERE b/c they're "frugal." The showy ones have no clue how to manage their money. So they make a million, but half goes into a home that they can barely afford and huge SUVs they use to drive up and down Rockville Pike!
So I give your dad credit (to some extent). unlimited education spending? good deal! And I applaud the extravagant travel, too!
