Is the second coverage free ? One of the coverages will be secondary to the first. It may not be worth the premium.

If you are eligible for 2 employer contributions for retirement you might want to enroll in both but be aware the employee contribution limits apply on a collective basis for all retirement plans you contribute to.

Secondary coverage is always a good thing IF you actually use the benefits.

No you should not have two lots of health insurance. Two retirement benefits is great, but two lots of health insurance will cause you headaches and cost more money. Work out which offers the best deal and which is the most stable job.

I've had a full time work at home job for a few years now but it's not stable and basically I could lose it at any time. Meanwhile I've always maintained a separate part time job. My part time job has asked me to go full time and I'm taking it because it's a much more stable job. I will also continue to work for my first job because the work at home job is extremely flexible, they do not care when or what time I work as long as the work gets done. The work at home job is production based so I can do as little or as much as I want.

That being said, I've always had my health insurance and retirement through my first job but I'm now eligible for benefits through my 2nd job. Should I sign up for a 2nd health insurance, retirement, etc? I don't have any kids yet but I'm hoping to within the next two years. I've never had any major health issues in the past but I'm in my mid 30s so not exactly a spring chicken anymore either.
