Subject: Its crazy how my body needs exercise now
I haven't had the physical craving kick in yet but I did get a fitbit about 6 months ago. The first 3-4 months it didn't really motivate me and I didn't care that I was way behind my "fitbit friends" and probably averaging 4000-5000 steps per day. I made excuses about not being able to find time to exercise. Then a couple months ago something clicked in and now I feel bad and lazy if I don't get my 10k steps a day! Which means if I get home and am short, I find a way to get out for a couple spins around the block to get the step count up. And even better, I've gotten up a couple mornings to walk/run so by the end of the day, I've hit the goal.
Better than nothing!

I used to feel this way--exercised in some form or another daily for years. Then I had two surgeries and then two kids, in under 4 years, and a crazy work schedule and exercise flew out the window. I have been busy from from 6 am to 10 pm pretty much every day for a couple years--and I am no 5 am exerciser! am finally, FINALLY, starting to exercise regularly again, 3 days a week. I feel so great, and really wish I could fit it in everyday. But the only way that it happened was that a gym opened up within walking distance, so I can leave the house, do a 1 hour work out and be back with a total time gone of less than 1.5 hours. Now my next hurdle is doing the 6 am class....I'd also like to take yoga at work during my lunch hour, but my days are too unpredictable/crazy right now.

I know how you feel OP. I started running in earnest 1.5 years ago after stopping for several years (had 3 kids). I found that I am pretty good at it now and am proud of my stamina and speed. I worked very hard for that! If I don't run for a few days because of the weather, I feel out of sorts. After my runs, I feel great. Give me some great music, great weather, and I will have a perfect run!

Yup--awesome, eh? I've been a daily athlete/exerciser for 23 years now (since starting high school), and wouldn't trade that for the world. Honestly, the hardest part of the first few weeks after my daughter was born was that I couldn't work out at the same intensity as before. Sleep deprivation was a piece of cake compared to exercise deprivation.

Same here! I go 6 days/week between lifting, interval training, and zumba. I also started doing mud/obstacle runs and I'm obsessed now and looking for the next challenge. I've done several Warrior Dashes and a Super Spartan. This past weekend I ran Tribal Quest and I'm doing Lozilu this weekend. We're also doing Hero Dash in Sept and I'm looking for something to run in Aug. Not sure what's next in our adventures, but now that I've started I feel the need to keep setting goals.

I work out daily. I mean, I have literally missed 3 days this year. (which I was fine with - sometimes work just gets in the way, or I dont feel well.)
I'm not obsessed, but I just really enjoy working out. it makes me feel good, and I like the way my body looks. It's the one hour a day that is completely ant totally for me. plus it's nice to be able to eat great food (ok, and wine) and not have to obsess about my diet because I know I'm burning off calories every day.

I feel the same way. If it's the weekend and I'm grumpy, it's usually because I haven't gone to the gym. It's wonderful how an hour of lifting can change my mood.

Yes, I started walking 3-4 miles a day about 3 mo. ago. If I have to skip a walk, I am pretty bummed out. I was very sedentary before, and I couldn't understand how people loved to work out. I also do yoga and strength training.

16 months ago I joined a gym. I was a new SAHM and thought an hour of me time while the kids were in the playroom sounded awesome. I didnt really want to loose weight but I def needed the endorphins and the adult interaction. I started going 3x a week and gradually found classes I liked and now for the past 6 months or so I go everyday. Just for an hour, so not excessive or anything, and if I cant make it I dont freak out but I REALLY need and look forward to that workout. Its like I have no idea how my body managed for so many years without daily exercise. Its also really inspiring and fun to see my free weights go from 5, to 10 to 15 and now on a good day sometimes 20. I like getting stronger and seeing definition Ive never seen before. Just really shocked at myself bc I was never athletic at all. Anyone else have a similar experience?
