Just note that Ephrata is 25 minutes on the opposite side of Lancaster and Dutch Wonderland. There and back it's an hour out of the way.

We've stopped a couple of time at Marino's in York PA and enjoyed it. Like some of the Yelp reviews, it's a little on the pricey side, but we like the food and found the portions large.

Second for Isaac's. If you are willing to do a local chain, it's great. There are a number of very different sandwich choices and the soups are great.

We stopped at Isaac's in York and it was really good. It's a chain but it's a local chain that is only in that area with amazing sandwiches. Very kid-friendly. But if you are looking for dinner food, it may not be the best fit for you.

We stopped at the Central Family Restaurant, just north of downtown York, on the left? It's diner food, family friendly, kind of a back in time place with an enormous menu of diner food like meatloaf, chicken n' dumplings, pie. It was very convenient for lunch on our drive to Hershey.

Driving between the two - not too many places I would stop but in Lancaster, York, Ephrata and surrounding areas there are plenty of places.

I say go up to Lancaster and eat there. In addition to Good and Plenty (which I haven't been to), there is also Miller's and Hershey Farm - both are buffet restaurants with lots of tasty food.

Just drive the 30 additional miles and hit the Good and Plenty near Lancaster.

We went to a brew pub in Lancaster but I can't remember the name.

I forget if it was in York or Lancaster (I think York), but there's a local brewery.. more like a brewpub with good food. Also it's family friendly.

We're heading to Dutch Wonderland on Friday (via 83 an 30) and we will be hitting York around dinnertime. We're looking to restaurant ideas en route and would love to find a local favorite rather than the typical chain-restaurant-off-the-highway option.

Any suggestions?
