Agree with PP. A window well grave is just wrong.

I would not advise you to bury any animal or other living thing in your window wells. It may cause a smell in the area. And then you would not be able to open the windows if you wanted to. Further, if the animal's ghost may want to come in and that would just be awkward. You would have to ask it to leave. Although making a grave at the bottom of your window wells may seem like a great idea, please think about it.

does your window well fill up with water? is there a drain that is old/clogged?

there are companies (mostly waterproofing companies) that will rebuild the window well for you. or at least redig the drain.

Or you can rent an industrial power shop vac from home depot for $10 if you don't want to or have room to store.

OP, an inexpensive shop vac can cost as little as $25 (mine was -- $20 for the vac an $5 for a bucket to put it on).

Seriously, when did Americans get so freaking wimpy that we have to hire someone else to vacuum leaves and bugs for us?

Any handyman can clean out the window wells and add gravel. You might also consider adding window well covers

My husband did this over the weekend, the amount of leaves accumulated (plus bugs, spiders, etc) was enough to get us over to Home Depot to get window well covers...
