Op: thanks for sharing your experience-- just wondering what's mini-IVF (is it natural cycle Ivf?). It's all new and at 42 I am tring to quickly figure out options.

10:25 - It's been a weird journey so we're doing things a little backwards. In short, First started TTC in late 2011. Got KU'ed first time, but miscarried. Then had chemical. Then I was ready to do IVF (sort of), but was married yet and that would have complicated the process at the military hospital. Got married in June and was ready to join the summer cohort when thyroid went ballistic. It wasn't under control until after I had aged out of the IVF program at Walter Reed. The doc's there actually thought it was time to consider a donor. So, went to SG for OE IVF and got cancelled first time and got 1 measly egg and fertilized poorly the second time. Obviously they were using tons of injectibles, but I never got more than 3 follicles regardless. So we got a 2nd opinion and decided that we would use our funds for DE, but not before trying a cheaper alternative first back at Walter Reed, where IUIs are $166 each. We were also burnt out from the IVf intensity. FWIW, I've had the same response on 5mg Femara (days 3-7) and 150iui Gonal-F (days 8-9) as I did on mega injectibles. And this is free to me. Got seamingly lucky on IUI#2 and crossing our fingers for a good outcome b/c I have better things to do with $30k than pay for DE IVF! Long story long, I guess. Good luck in your journey. If I could do IVF again, I would have insisted on mini-IVF, but we just didn't know and SG doesn't do it. That said, Sacks at CFA thought he could have gotten 5 follies. Go figure. We didn't have the unlimited funds to try every option.

10:32 - The IF boards have been great on fertility friend and I couldn't have stayed sane without them. I agree that the due date boards are horrendous, though.

14:29 - Eff, yeah!!! That's such an awesome report! As for your DH's words, that is great advice. I will try to think about that. Maybe My DH isn't quite as philosophical abt it. He just thinks you can;t do this for 9 months straight. My reply: I don't feel pregnant so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Not very productive!

Last year my TSH also went haywire, which seems to not be happening now. I am a little tired, but cutting down on caffeine can do that to a girl.

In any case, if this turns into a sticky bean, you get bet your a$$ that I'll be stoked to have had no real clue I'm KU'ed right now other than what the tests tell me

U/S on Thursday will provide some new clues.

I'm 14:29 and just got back from my u/s and both beans are measuring on target with nice heartbeats. This morning I woke up and as usual my yesterday sore boobs were completely fine today (seems to be every other or every two days that they decide to hurt). I'm still eating just fine. A bit gross feeling after dinner last night but I may have had too much broccoli which may have made me feel sick on any old day. Also, was finally nauseous this morning but soon as we left the RE I felt fine (so, not nauseous but just nervous My RE was not worried that I feel fine and a nurse said I may not get sick or it might just hit me one day later on when the babies are starting to "start taking it all out" of me. In any event, my DH says this all the time and I don't listen but I'll say it to you ... enjoy feeling good and don't be crazy because no matter what, you're not going to be able to tell how it's going (good or bad) from reading your own tea leaves.

I've learned to just stay away in general. I've taken for granted that while not always super gentle and kind, the women on this board seem level headed, bright, and can write full sentences and use their big girl words. The terminology and over use of icons/emoticons on those boards alone drive me bonkers.

Op: I am also 42 and trying. Have you been working with an RE in the dc area? Did they recommend you try iui and not go straight to IVF? Appreciate any advice. Sarah

I'd just advise you to stay away from the due date groups on some boards b/c there you will find ppl who need new bras and wardrobes at 3w. Totally annoying.

I never had any symptoms until about 7 weeks. It was only extreme fatigue. No morning sickness.

It's VERY early OP. Hardly anyone has symptoms at this point.

I am in the same boat - and I have two healthy kids where I never had symptoms during their pregnancies,so I am optimistic!! My last pregnancy, I had horrible morning sickness, and I miscarried. So for me, no symptoms is a positive!!

Give it two weeks! I felt nothing that early either, and I'm still nauseous at 25 weeks. Hopefully you are one of the lucky 25% who never get the bad symptoms.

I didn't have any symptoms until about 5w4d...though I have a friend at 7mos who basically has not had any symptoms the whole pregnancy (aside from weight gain, obviously).

Hang in there. Everyone's different, but it might calm your nerves to take an HPT.

OP here - Thanks 14:20 and 14:29. Those both count as supportive. I really need to hear that there's hope even if you;re nervous too!

I am currently 8w1d and still have zero symptoms (minus sore boobs that come and go and stay away for a couple days before deciding to come back just a little) and as of my 6w3d check in had *two* with little heart beats. I hope it doesn't count as not supportive that I'm freaked out too but I certainly has zero anything at 5w2d and had two good scans following.

I am 5w5d and don't feel any different or have any symptoms. My first u/s today showed the yolk sac measuring at 6w but they said it's too early to hear the heart beat.

I'm trying to be optimistic.

Looking for people who have been in the same boat. I'm 42 and recently got a BFP after medicated IUI with good betas: 12dpo =145, 16dpo = 598. That said, although I felt a little funky at the very start, I have literally *no* symptoms at this moment and it is FREAKING me out. Has anyone else had this experience and had a viable pregnancy? The time that I was pregnant (and miscarried at 7w5d) I def had pregnancy symptoms.
