Is there anyone who has experience with the Executive Leadership Program that's provided to federal employees with GS 11-13? Did you enjoy it? Does it help you with your career development? Did you have to get permission of your direct supervisor before you apply? How competitive was the application process?

I'm asking because I see the announcement about the program, but not sure whether it's worth the effort. It involves quite some travel/training outside DC area and quite some fee ($6000) and the agreement from the supervisor, which is probably the hardest/awkward part especially if you want the office to pay.

If you were in that program, can you share your experience?
