I saw in SG's office a pamphlet for a grant program they offer. It sounded like you could apply for a grant to help defer costs.

14:35 - Which clinic did you do your surrogate cycle with? The $22K was just the cost of the cycle (procedures + meds) not anything else like surrogate comp right?

RBA guarantees two high quality blasts, it's a pretty reasonable program. Many people transfer one and freeze one.

I did. The finance office reduced it by $1,000. I ended up paying $22,000 for a successful surrogate cycle plus some to freeze.

In your shoes, I would look into RBA.

Anecdotally, I've heard that some couples without insurance have been successful in getting clinics to charge them the rates insurance companies pay, but obviously that doesn't apply to a shared risk program.

But they don't do shared risk!

I'm pretty sure they do DE.

Thank you--looks like they have a location in Vienna. Their website has information on becoming an egg donor, but not about using donor eggs. Weird. Anyone use GW for DE IVF?

Unfortunately we do not. I don't see how anyone living in the DC area would qualify with how much it costs to live here. (I'm from the mid-west and after 7 years here, i still have sticker shock!)

Do you qualify for their shared help program? Annual incomes under 95k qualify for a discount.

I've been doing IF treatments with SG over the past 3 years--unexplained IF. I'm now 39, DH is 37. We are 100% OOP, thus we tried way too many IUIs hoping they would do the trick but they failed. (Except for one c/p.) We did 1 IVF, but miscarried early. Trying to increase our odds, we bet the farm on a 1:3 DE cycle which failed miserably and left us no frozen embryos. Our next step is to save for their shared-risk DE program with the guarantee. It will take some time to come up with that kind of money, so I'm wondering if any of you have been successful at negotiating rates with your RE? I see GIVF offers a (new?) IVF+ program that gives you a 25% credit of what you spent on OE cycles toward their DE program. That is awesome--too bad I didn't start out with them.
