OP, you sound pretty fragile. Did you experience some sort of trauma recently?

Who cares? I'm a super clean person (no shoes inside the house!) but cleanliness is a FAR lesser issue than the safety issue.

Does your friend have a no shoes in house policy?

She only has "Sensory" that is "Depth perception" issues in bearing down. Like sometimes she wouldn't press hard enough on the ice lever on their fridge and would say that no ice would come out. I know this because I have been at their house before. Her mom (my friend) said that with shoes she will either press to hard or too soft on the pedals. Apparently she stops smoother with no shoes. I just think that is BS

Its BS because I think that my friend's DD is just lying, and she is always driving with no shoes on with the excuse that she "can't put the right pressure on the pedal with shoes on".

That's such a dumbass reason and she shouldn't be driving!

If her daughter can only drive because of "sensory issues," then she probably shouldn't be driving at all. I don't think it's a matter of grossness ("eew!") but more a matter of having the surface area to securely press on the pedals. Shoes provide some "grip" - bare feet and wiggly toes won't be able to get as stable a grip on the pedals.

I always take my shoes off to drive because I feel as if I have a better handle of the clutch, brake and accelerator, particularly if I'm wearing high heels. In high heels I find it harder to get the biting point on the clutch. Overall I feel more comfortable kicking my right shoe off as soon as I get into the car. To each his own.

Why does it gross you out? Why is it BS?

I do it all the time with sandals and flip flops.

My friend lets her DD (17) do this. It grosses me out to think about it. She says here DD is "sensory" (whatever the fuck that means anymore) and it is safer and easier for her to drive with no shoes on.
