Are you serious OP? Please, please, please do not do this. These are terrible names.

Doesn't matter. Are all girls named April born in April? No.

I like July for a name (not so much January).

No, July doesn't fit for this month. Julia and Julian do.

I love month names, including January and might even name a girl November. But only if she were born during that month. I'm not really into July as a name though.

May and August are okay too.

Why on earth would you name your kid January if she wasn't born in January? So strange, especially since it's not really a pretty name.

I've actually never once thought about the women I know named April or June being born in those months. I wonder if they were? It honestly never occurred to me. I just always thought they were slightly odd names, never made the connection with a birth month.

I think you do have to be born in that month to be eligible.

If you're going to name your kid after a month, I don't really think it matters if the name and their birth month "match." At the end of the day, those are both unusual names that will spawn all kinds of comments and conversations that you're kid will have to deal with for the rest of her life. It's not like matching them up will spare her from questions or raised eyebrows. I'd seriously think about it. I don't think I'd saddle my kid with this.

Month names. Clearly July fits this month and January does not. DH thinks that you can really only use a month name for the actual month DC is born in. I suppose it would be a lifetime of explaining that you were not born in January. Am I crazy for feeling this way? Is a girl named January born in the summer any different than a girl named July born in July? I am thinking along the lines of people who name a winter baby Summer but DH is thinking that this is similar to naming your son Anne and expecting people to know that he is a male.
