If you're going to make rice, might as well make brown rice for the whole family since that's healthier anyway, and only allow yourself half of a serving size.
Doing things like that has helped me a lot. Or, if I make a chicken stir fry, I'll have my over extra vegetables instead of rice or noodles that everyone else is having. That way you don't have to do anything special and everyone can eat the same meal.
