This is stupid. You don't get to the interview if you don't make the cut on the test.

Anyone can join the Wilson academies. You don't have to take a test to follow the courses of study.

The AAs at SWW that I have known over the past eight years were also accepted to Wilson academies and Banneker plus private schools.

If this is the beginning of hysteria, it is too late. There's too many AA's in the school population, that's run by too many AA's that's in the system. What can you do?

Disagree. The fear of most parent I have spoken / listen to is that a merger with another school whose school body is not up to the same level of commitment will inevitably bring down the level of enthusiasm that most WW's student manifest. Is it justified? Time will tell....

What the fuck does that mean? The test is pretty hard. It's not the best school in DC, Banneker is.

WOW, all the AA's that I know that were accepted were some of the tops in their respective 8th grades classes. What a horrible thing to say.

Current Walls parent here--the interview does matter, but the test is the most important component of the admissions process, imo. and yes, the math section of the test is based on 10th grade standards, so your daughter should be ready for that. My child just finished his first year and is definitely happy at the school. We have had a good experience--not sure about the whole AA issue raised above...that perspective is new to me, and I haven't heard it from any other parents who have been connected with the school for many years.

From what I have heard the test is all Math, and I think it's a grade level or two above 8th grade math. Hopefully someone that knows will chime in.

Lots of hating on SWWHS recently. Trolling about too many AA's, hate for aligning with lower school.

Isn't is called the School "Without" Walls?

Expect the interview to matter more than the test. That's how DCPS keeps AA enrollment far higher than achievement.

I'm very curious about the Walls admissions process, particularly the entrance exam and the topics on it. My daughter plans on applying and wants to know what to expect. Anyone know anything
