OP, here. I love the Old Fashioned Pink - not sure if I can get a Behr color in a low- or no-VOC paint.

I'm also curious about BM posy pink (2080-60). I think I'll need a deck after all...

Thanks again for all your help!

What's the difference between paisley pink & pink begonia?

My daughter is 5, so no grey.

Her bedroom is still lavender from her lavender/green nursery, but we went pink when we did her big girl bed. We've put off the walls until we were sure she was attached to pink - we should have done this at least a year ago, oops!

This is the comforter: http://reviews.landofnod.com/6329/4679/reviews.htm

I'd say we're going for more cheery than elegant.

Depending on the color and size of the trim, and the amount of light that comes into the room, pink walls can feel dowdy and sad. Which is why not knowing anything about your room, I'd default to a cherry-blossom white sort of pink tone. It'll keep the light reflecting and bouncing off the walls, and won't compete or overly saturate the room especially given that you're going with "true pink" bed linnens.

Here are some downer pink bedrooms (well, my opinion, anyway ):

Here are some bedrooms that probably would look sort of "downer," except the very light pink (rather than saturated pink) on the walls saves them:

PS: You might also consider some soft grey walls:

Duron Ballet was recommended to me 8 years ago by a decorator when I posed this question on DCUM. I have had it in 2 houses for DD, and other family have used it very successfully. It's in an old deck, the Duron on Conn Avenue still has it behind the counter though, 7410 is the code Duron needs if they can't find it. Not too pepto bismol, not too pastel pink.

How old is your DD? I like the blushier pinks in general and I think they will age well. They will still read pink without the pepto-bismal feel. (You can always change out the rug and comforter for a more grown up look as she gets older.)

Thank you for the SW suggestion.

Any others? I have access to the BM color decks at Strosniders nearby.

Too keep things bright (pink can be a downer color, actually) I recommend staying in the very, very light pinks.

For a classic (light) pink, go with Benjamin Moore Ballerina Pink (2082-70) that can read eeeeeever so slightly grey-plum, or Pink Bliss (2093-70) that has a wee smidge of brown.

For something that reads a little more "blushy" pink, try Benjamin Moore Pink Peony (2078-70) or Elephant Pink (2087-70)

I think the walls will read white-pink with these shades, and if you have nice chunky white (maybe Simply White 2143-70) crown molding, it'll stand out beautifully.

Just match it to the carpet.

Sherwin Williams Diminutive Pink. We did it at 3/4 strength, though that did mean it needed 2 coats. (Other rooms in SW Upward - a blue / gray one step darker on the color swatch - only needed 1 coat.) So not sure darkness wise if 2 coats at 75% is really lighter than 1 coat at ful strength.

But it's a light(ish - still plenty pink) true pink.

My DD has asked for a pink room for several years now. We have someone coming to do some other paint/repair work and thought we'd have him paint her room while he's here.

She has a Land of Nod pink print comforter and area rug. It's that standard little girl pink color - no grey, lavender, orangey, etc, undertones.

Normally, I obsess over paint color chips and samples, but I just don't have time.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
