i'm a vegetarian and would love a good veggie kabob.
you could also do grilled portobello mushroom caps.
i would love a veggie burger but they are so hit or miss it would be best to ask your guests if they have a veg burger preference if you are going that route. i say ask from the perspective of the host (i always want to accomodate my guests) not from the perspective of a guest (as a guest i never expect a host to bend over backwards for me and am always grateful for whatever they have!).

I'm a vegetarian. I love haloumi cheese on the BBQ. It's quite pricey, though. I also like veggie burgers. But, whatever you do, be sure to slip some tin foil underneath the veggie stuff so it doesn't get swamped in blood from the other stuff.

I don't eat meat but I would never want the hostess to go out of her way to prepare something specialjust for me. They know it's a BBQ so maybe they'll eat a bit at home and just have some of the sides when they're there.

Veggie kabobs or homemade black bean burgers (a lot of us vegetarians don't like the "fake meat" kind of burgers.) Also be aware that they may prefer their food to be cooked on foil or something so that its not touching meat as it cooks.

To add: The veggie kielbasa is a Tofurkey brand product. Very hearty and delish cooked on the grill.

Veggie burgers and veggie kabobs (meat eaters usually eat them too so make plenty).

Another vote for veggie kabobs. You could marinate some tofu cubes and grill those on the kabobs as well.

I have a couple of vegetarians coming over for a cookout. I am planning on chicken, sausages and burgers for the carnivores. Sides will be a past a salad and a green salad. Any ideas on what to serve the non-meat eaters?
