Walkability varies a lot by neighborhood within both CCDC and CCMD.

What political/infrastructure problems? Stop blowing smoke and worry about the many traffic cams and big brother on your side of CT.

We're in CCDC. It was more expensive for what we were looking for. Like the area, schools. It was more walkable for us.

Not sure what school/political/infrastructure issues are? Nothing that has affected us.

The prices on the DC seem higher for what you get. I don't get it.

We chose CCDC because it is more walkable/urban. Only a few blocks from the metro, sidewalks everywhere, houses are closer together thus we are closer to our neighbors (in all senses.)

Don't love our MS/HS options, but we'll cross that bridge...

This. The main difference is the price. A house in CCDC is almost always bigger/nicer than a comparably priced house in CCMD.

Because living in MD one block from the DC line is VERY expensive and living in CCMD past East West HWY sucks. Also in CCDC we have good schools Murch and Lafayette and great parks. Plus we can get downtown to our jobs in under 35 min. We compared Lafayette and Murch to CCMD elementary schools (public) and didn't see much of a difference. I have noticed that houses in our part of CC, MD (Rock Creek Forest) seem to be very overpriced initially. They are sitting on the market for a while and then sellers are dropping the price to a more reasonable amount. Example: $710 K for a pretty small colonial on Spencer Road with some but not a lot of upgrades - later dropped to about $650K and now under contract.

Live in CCDC and love it. Some of us prefer to live in DC. I don't know what infastructure needs you are speaking of, the schools issue is solved by going private and political issues don't affect daily life.

What's the difference? Everyone seems to be buying up CCDC and CCMD houses are sitting. I don't get it. What's the difference?
