I was on it in May and June and just gave it up--main side effects for me were extended heavy bleeding (one stretch was 16 days in a row, sometimes changing tampons hourly). Just stopped so have no idea when my menstrual cycle will straighten out. Am in a slight panic because I have a metallic taste in my mouth and have had moments of nausea past two days. I tested today and negative, and trying to talk myself down that it's just the humidity that's making me feel bad and that I can't possibly be pregnant.

In short: can't recommend!!

Thanks. I am on a very high dose to serve as both BC and endometriosis treatment and am having a lot of issues. Wanted to see what others' experiences were before talking to my doctor.

I am on it now (it's been ~6 months). No side effects but I have also heard there is an increased chance of pregnancy with progesterone only pills so i'm thinking about switching.

I can only take progestin, so I tried it for about 2 months. I gained a lot of weight (about 15 lbs!) in those few mo the which I lost once I stopped taking it.

Does anyone have experience taking Norethindrone? What were your side effects?
