One recipe I read said to just scrape some beeswax off a beeswax candle. Sounds about right to me!

This is a friend's company and you can order online. Delicious honey as well.

I searched "food grade beeswax" on amazon, and they have some stuff.

I'd also try Yes, if there is one near you (Cleveland Park, Adams Morgan, Cap Hill).

My impression is that Moms is sort of like what Whole Foods was 20-30 years ago-- lot of bulk stuff, some regular groceries but a lot of things you might not find in your regular grocery store too.

MOMs is my organic market. It's a local chain that competes with Whole Foods. Google will find the location nearest you - but it's largely in the burbs.

You might check Whole Foods or Moms. I know WF sells some raw honey that comes with a layer of propolis/wax.

Your post got me curious. I was thinking you could try Farmers Markets or MOMs. I also came across this:

Their website didn't mention specifically for baking, but I bet if you call them, they could let you know of a local source.

Any idea where I can buy bees wax for baking? I'm in MoCo but will travel if necessary...
