Jaleo, Oyamel, Matchbox, or Lauriol Plaza.

Not upstairs. Now that they installed a roof (of sorts), ceiling fans and A/C, it's great up there. Plus, what kid wouldn't love that corn?

Good suggestions, although I've not been to The Pig (and have a bias against it because it's part of a terrible chain - The Heights, Logan Tavern, etc.) Add Le Diplomate and El Chucho.

And OP - time to start acquiring a stable of babysitters.

You don't say where they are coming from. Hip might be in the eye of the beholder. Zaytinya or Jaleo might fit the bill. Both are loud so kids won't be noticed.

I like the place, but it's hardly hip.

Red Hen. It's new and well reviewed, but noisy enough to be kid friendly.

I took my kids to this restaurant. They did well in the environment but were 3 and 5. I would say if your children do well in a restaurant, it is a pretty good spot for them. But if you want good Mexican food I don't recommend it.

No, we can't leave the kids home.

Anyone else have recommendations?

Can't you leave the kids at home? Hip and 2 and 4 don't mix.

My young (28YO) cousin and his girlfriend are visiting ys for a few days - his birthday is one of the days they'll be here. I'd like to take them out for a celebratory dinner, but i don't know where. I want a place that's kind of hip for young people, but where it will still be acceptable fir my DCs (ages 2 and 4). Any ideas?
