Second the whale watching - tons o' fun.

Take this suggestion with a grain of salt: Cirque du Soli (sp) is based up there and in the summer they do free outdoor shows at night.

My husband, who is tall, loved it. It was crowded, there were no chairs unless you brought your own, so people stood and it wasn't under a tent so we got rained on. I am also short - 5'1 - and I couldn't see. I was pregnant so I was incredibly cranky about having to stand and not being able to see. But there were a ton of kids there too. So it may be worth looking into once you are there. They may have moved to a better location by now too. It's acrobats in training too, so don't expect regular quality but it's free and the parts I could see were quite good.

On Wed and Sun from Aug 3-21 there are huge fireworks displays - definitely worth going to see.

You should take the kids whale-watching. Also take them to the Montmorency falls.

No personal experience, but here are a few links I bookmarked because we want to go with our kids later this year. Please give a report after your trip!

Hi everyone. We're taking our two kids, 5 and 7, to Quebec City for five days in August. We'll have car so can get out of the city too. Can anyone with experience provide tips on things not to miss and things that aren't really good for kids? Thanks in advance!
