same here- about 2 1/2 years ago. i thought rappaport was fine. he was a little practiced, and i don't know if i'd use him again. it felt very formulaic, and canned. but the circumcision itself was fine. very fast, he was great about prepping us for the aftercare, and called twice later in the week to follow up.

for what it's worth, he did not shake my hand, and directed most of his talking - in person - to my husband. i spoke to him on the phone and made all the arrangements, but in person it was clear that he was more comfortable talking to my husband.

I think Rabbi Henesch charged about $700 a few years ago. I don't think he used anything but he did put sugar water on the pacifier and let the baby suck on a napkin with wine on it. The whole thing took about 10 seconds and my DS cried out once and then was fine.

We used dr engel as well. Could not have been more happy with his "service" as well as the procedure. He did use a numbing cream with us.

13:08 did Dr. Engel use anesthetic with a shot? My brother and SIL just had a bris in Rhode Island and insisted on a dr who is a mohel to get a numbing cream. I am so unsure to go with someone who has done 10K brises or a dr

Is that Louis Marmom in Rockville ?

We preferred an MD who was also a Mohel and leaned more torwards Reform. We used Dr. Andrew Engel and thought he was wonderful

Loved Marmon! Everyone raved about his ceremony which I may have missed. Prices range. Insurance could potential reimburse you so I would look into that

We used Rabbi Henesch for my first DS 3 years ago and we will use him again for #2 next month. We were very happy with him and the circumcision healed beautifully. He is very popular around here -- he probably does 20 or more circumcisions every week.

Can someone recommend a mohel in the DC area? We are expecting a boy in a few weeks and have heard so many mixed reviews about all mohels in the area. I am looking for a first hand experience, how much it cost, and how the baby did after. Also, we can't decide to go with a Rabbi or MD for this procedure. Thanks so much for your help!
