So very, very Harry Potter. Not necessarily a bad thing, but that was my first reaction to that combination of names, although I now recall his mom was Lily, not Lillian. (And his father, James.)

It flows nicely. I wouldn't use James as a first name for a girl, but as a middle I say go for it!

Lillian James is beautiful and awesome and gorgeous. Name her that and don't look back and don't check this thread anymore!

Okay, that was submitted too quickly.
I like Lillian James, but because James is such a first name sounding name, I might give her Jemma as suggested my another PP. What you've chosen is very pretty, though.

I dont see anything wrong with using James as a middle name. Middle names are barely ever used and to make up for the masculine name, you are using Lillian..a very feminine name.
What a wonderful way to honor her grandfather!

I have an man's name as my middle name to honor my grandfather who passed awhile while my mom was expecting me. Like James, it was a first name but in other families can be used as a last name.
I think it's fine. Especially given that Lillian makes the gender perfectly clear. I also think that Lillian James has a lovely rhythm, better than Lillian Baxley.

I think it is fine but it does make me think of "Lillian Vernon" a little bit.

Honestly, a traditional male name like James as a girl's middle name seems odd to me. What about Jemma? Or, since James is a version of Jacob, you could use Jacqueline or a variant of that.
Like the mother's maiden name as a middle name.

Lily for short? James to honor my late grandfather. Too masculine?
Also considering "Lillian Baxley" (mother's maiden name is baxley)
Our last name is very italian so trying not to get too complicated. This naming business is hard!
