I like buying online because it's just easier. I bought a ton of furniture from Rove Concepts (http://roveconcepts.com/) and I'm really happy with it. My sister loves them too. My real Italian marble Eero Saarinen Tulip Table and the Eames Lounger are my favorites.

I'm not sure Ikea furniture really gives that "look."

You mean the look that you spent a lot of money on your furniture? No it doesn't. But it most definitely has pieces that can pull together mid century modern look.

I"ve found some nice things at that consignment furniture store right near the Second Story Books warehouse off Rockville pike. I'm afraid I can't remember its name at all, though.

forgot to add, for new pieces at good prices, check Thrive furniture http://www.thrivefurniture.com

there is no tax and free shipping and 365day return policy (I think with free shipping back the first 7 days). and they always have sales with 20% off storewide around holidays, (the last one was memorial day week enb).

Miss Pixie's and Good Wood. You have to be pretty vigilant about checking back for new stock but the prices are usually reasonable. I've also had terrific luck with ebay and craigslist.

Can anyone suggest used stores that sell mid century modern furniture? Or just modern, attractive furniture that's not too expensive? Thanks!
