I am interested to know if anyone has actually gotten work through these sites. But if the employer does not allow it, have you gotten caught, what were the consequences?

Someone I know fired an employee for moonlighting without asking or telling him about it.

Was he able to claim unemployment?

I don't know. But I think the person who was fired had her own business on the side so I'm not sure if you can collect unemployment when you have two jobs and you get fired from one.

I know a lot of people who freelance. I told my boss I do it (MBA admissions consulting). They don't mind at all, and I get business from within the firm.

Has anybody worked through Freelancer.com and other sites while also working full time?
What were your experiences?
