my little kids loved riding the buses- they thought it was great fun.
We had our double citi mini stroller- which folds easily. When the bus pulled in I would grab the kids out of the stroller and DH would grab the stroller.
It worked just fine.

We just drove. They give you free parking if you stay on site and then you have all your baby gear with plenty of spare stuff just in case.

we had our strollers open and in use on the monorail. Cant speak for the buses because we didnt use them

It all depends on when you go. We liked to arrive at parks before Rope Drop, and often left midday, and didn't encounter crowds on the buses at those times, except once when we were at a waterpark and they closed suddenly due to thunder. On the other hand if you leave right after fireworks, I hear it can be very crowded.

You can bring your stroller if it's folded. If you have 1 adult it might be hard to hold a baby and hold a stroller, but with 2 it should be fine.

We stayed at POP with a 3 yo boy and walked over to Art of Animation to see the Cars section. (The two hotels are across a tiny lake from each other.) DS was gaga for all of AoA, and their food court was great, so if we went back again I'd seriously consider staying there (although we would only need the standard rooms in the Little Mermaid section, not a family suite). Their pools are also fantastic, and that's the only thing about AoA that you can't use as a POP guest.
We also stayed two nights at the Contemporary on the same trip, and I will say that *as the parent*, that was way easier - just walking to/from the MK rather than getting on a bus. However, DS says he loved POP way more, and that option is much friendlier on the wallet...

Some of the Magical Express (airport shuttle service) buses now have seat belts, actually, but I'm not sure you could use them to install a car seat (and there's no way to predict if you'll get a newer or older-style bus). None of the intra-Disney buses do, though.

The monorail won't go to all the parks. It will go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. You will still have to take a bus to Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom.

You will need to fold up your stroller on the bus that goes from your resort to the parks. People do it all the time, so it is definitely possible, just a pain.

As others have said there is nowhere to put a car seat. Just hold the baby.

RE: Art of Animation resort

How many people are in your party? We have 6 in our family (2 adults plus 4 kids ages 7-13) and while we have considered AOA, I'm hesitant. I don't like the idea of the majority of the beds consisting of transforming other furniture (tables, sofas, etc) into beds. I'd rather just have regular beds.

I DO like the pools, or at least, what I've heard about the pools.

FWIW, it seems like a moderate hotel like Port Orleans would be similar, if not cheaper, than AoA, depending on your family size.

I've only rode on the Magical express once (no kids on that trip), but I would feel safe bringing a child without a car seat on it.

Disney doesn't use vans. They use full size buses. Little kids usually just ride the bus. Those things are tanks. I wouldn't worry about it. Same with the monorails.


For an infant, you could use a stroller that has a pumpkin carseat that attaches. When you get to the bus, fold up the stroller and place the baby and the carseat on the seat of the bus.

Just got back from DW yesterday and there would be no way to use a carseat on one of the buses or shuttles. They have no seatbelts to even strap the seats down.

Have you never taken your kid on a bus?

Shuttles from airport are large tour buses. Inside property are metro type buses. No car seats. Drivers are VERY cautious in general.

The ride from some hotels to MK is reportedly 20-25 minutes...seems a bit risky because it's a long time for an infant to be in a car without a carseat (esp if the shuttles are just little vans...are they?)
