My daughter is doing Camp Sitar (http://www.sitarartscenter.org/) in DC for the first time. She loves it. They offer various arts classes - three in the morning and three in the afternoon, including dance, singing, library, percussion ensemble, clay sculptures, etc.

Our children attended FFX County 3-day basketball camp (Lee Rec District). They enjoyed playing basketball and swimming in the afternoon.

We do Lifetime Fitness camps (2 years now.) I like that it is full day (we both work FT), good activities planned for the kids, fun/responsible counselors, good field trips on charter buses (vs being so hot on a school bus), and cheap in comparison to other camps I have looked at.

In Howard County my children enjoy the recreational camp alot. They have a lot of activities planned for the kids. Plus it cheap so its a great deal all around.

First day of FFX county Jr. ROCS camp for my 7-year old. She has been beaming and bright-eyed all afternoon as she has been telling us about her day non-stop. Usually all I get from her when I ask what they did all day in school is a lackluster "nothing". So I'll put this camp down as a YES for next year.

We're doing the Regi-oh camp at glen echo (1 week 2.5 - 5 year olds, parent child.) My child seems to like it, but is bored 45 minutes in.

My dd went to a week of camp at Jumping Jacks in Ashburn, VA. She loved every day of it she went. I even offered to pick her up early a couple of days like at 2 instead of 5, and she said, no, don't get me early. She is 5.

Please provide reviews and recommendations (or camps to avoid) for 2013. The threads in previous years have helped me out but sometimes worry that the info is dated.

So far, we haven't done any camps, so I don't have any experiences to share yet but will do so as the summer goes on.

thanks!
