if you drive it, Hyattsville and UP are pretty far off the beltway and tough in the morning. If you were to budget for the ICC the laurel/beltsville schools might be a good option. Heard the principal at calverton is good. Vansville is new. Bond Mill is excellent.

When is the job fair?...some schools mentioned above may get openings later depending when the principal is notified. The schools above are good choices if they have openings.

see where there's opening, then try to network to find out what the principals at each are like. The leadership seems to make or break a teacher's experience at a school. I'd say much more the students or the parents.

Sorry, didn't see 14:03. The other suggestions are also good ones.

Berwyn Heights ES is just Beltway to Kenilworth to Pontiac and supposedly they will have an opening or two.

Paintbranch, Hollywood, Berwyn Heights, and Greenbelt Elementary Schools are pretty close to the beltway and are good schools. University Park is one of the best in the County but it isn't exactly right off the beltway and I'm guessing that positions there are going to be few and far between.

I forgot to mention that I am looking at elementary schools and would really prefer a K-5 school.

Thank you

Hi:

I will be going to a PGCPS job fair. I currently live off I-270, so part of picking a school is based on commuting distance. I'm inclined to stay not too far off the Beltway traveling Eastbound. I'm hoping there
will be openings near Hyattsville, Takoma Park or University Park. However I'm trying not to go too far past Exit 22 or so. I believe that's Greenbelt.

Any suggestions on good schools towards the locations I have mentioned? I know the areas I have mentioned have a high Hispanic population, but I'm ok with that. I just don't want to deal with an absolutely horrible school.

Thank you
