You can get them at the pet store for under $500. They now work with the periphery of your property, and you can set them as you wish. They require no digging, which is a bonus!

Question is: can I use them on my neighbors?

We used Invisible Fence and I think it was about $1300 for an acre, plus battery replacement. They are relatively easy to install yourself, but I am not sure if the equipment is as reliable.

I chose the professional as I wanted to ensure that it worked and kept my dog contained. I did not want to run the risk of the dog getting out and lost or hit by a car. It is expensive, but cheaper than a real fence. Personally, I think that nothing beats a real fence, but it was cost prohibitive for us for a 6' fence on an acre.

Hello, has anyone experience with electronic/invisible fences--how much do they typically cost when they are professionally installed? And are they not that difficult to install yourself? Any idea the cost on DIY vs. hired professional> ? TIA!
