I walked by and looked at the menu. It looks like they don't have many of the more traditional rolls that I like, so I probably will go elsewhere.

This was discussed on anpost sometime ago and i still dony understand what the fuss is about.

I think it's great. I love going out to eat with my kids, but DH and I also appreciate occasionally going out in an adult setting and enjoying a meal without kids running around the aisles. There are PLENTY of kid friendly places in Del Ray and nearby. Not sure why one sushi restaurant remaining adult only is unbelievable.

Also, I do hope OP realized that the reasons restaurants put in this rule is because so many parents don't mind their kids when they're out at restaurants - they let their kids misbehave and ruin the experience for other diners.

It is also absolutely legal.

There are tons of places in DC that, while not out right saying it, do not necessarily want children there...

At any rate, this is very old news.

This has already been discussed here, ad naseum. I'll summarize the two sides for you:

Pro: Del Ray has a lot of restaurants, all are full of kids. I'm excited to have a date night spot without kids, and have lots of places to go when I want to eat with kids.

Con: Del Ray is a family-friendly area, and this restaurant doesn't conform to that idea.

There's a third group who doesn't like sushi.

PS - I live in Del Ray, and the "uproar" doesn't really seem to exist.
