My company TasteDC - www.tastedc.com - lists pretty much every cooking class in the Washington, D.C. area including Teen cooking classes. You can find them by searching in the "Cooking Class" Category - FYI, L'Academie has many cooking classes catering to teens, but many others like Cookology in Ashburn and Sur La Table in Pentagon City also do them..

Cookology has week long teen camps and also classes.
Our 14 has done several and loves them - they'll also let the teens join in w/ adult classes if they have one that interests them.

There is (or was?) a cooking school in Vienna called Culinaria that offered classes. There also is someplace - I'm sorry, I don't know the name -- out near Ashburn or Dulles that does cooking classes; I heard that some scout troops went there for badge work etc. And there used to be a place in Rockville that specialized in kids' cooking classes.

Have you done a web search for this? I'm sure it would turn things up. Do some online searches for the towns/areas closest to you and key words like "cooking classes teen" or "cooking classes beginner" or whatever.

Be sure that whatever class you choose is for teens and not younger kids -- I think there definitely are kids' cooking classes out there but your teen probably will be turned off if the other students are a lot younger. It might be even more appealing if you can get a friend or two to sign up for the same class!

I'm realizing that 2 weeks of unstructured activity is not going to be good for dd. Does anyone have suggestions for cooking classes for teens? Didn't find much at Whole Foods. TIA
