I got some from Trader Joes - I had them for ages and then ate them - I got pine mouth - yuck, nasty taste for nearly two weeks.

Actually Trader Joe's carries the Chinese ones which are hypothesized to be the source of pine mouth syndrome though the FDA has said the research is inconclusive.

(I am hoping there is someone out there who has suffered from pine mouth syndrome and was subsequently able to identify "safe" pine nuts. Since I experienced pine mouth a few years ago, I have largely avoided the nuts. But I am wanting to cook with them again. Thanks!)
