Besides pale yellow, how about more of a rich golden yellow color? Or a cream? You could get some tiles for a backsplash that tie in with the floor and paint color.

OP, I posted the green suggestions and also like the Wythe Blue and Agave suggestions of the other posters. If you're thinking you and your husband would prefer less color, I'd take close-up pictures of your cabinets to a reputable paint store. Maybe they could suggest a similar shade of color in paint? Sort of an all-beige/off white effect? Then you could pull color from your accessories, nearby upholstered furniture, paintings, etc.

I didn't include preferences because I really am open to new ideas. I'm not sure what it is exactly I didn't like about the picture that you posted. I think part of my problem is that if I were designing the kitchen from scratch, I wouldn't have chosen this cabinet color or these floor tiles. But we can't afford to redo the entire kitchen right now, and everything is in good shape.

I'm guessing they were trying to tie into the coral tones in the granite, but it looks more peach in person.

Based on your and your husband's reactions, I would suggest a very pale color, essentially tinted white (much like the yellow walls in the picture that I posted, but you can do the same with blue or beige or grey).

OP here, I never would have thought of doing green or blue. I don't like the color in the picture that was posted. We are rather tame in color selections. If DH had his way, the entire house would be painted white.

How do I put a picture in my post? I have pictures of the kitchen than I can share.

Blue/ Blue Gray - contrast with floors

This is almost my kitchen, but my counters are more mahogany colored.

Their website has some good examples to give you ideas too. They never look the same in your house than they do in the photo, but it's a good starting point.

PP here. Like BM's Baby Turtle? It's hard to suggest without knowing the OP's kitchen lighting, windows, etc, but I could definitely like a darker, richer color with the kitchen cabinets.

You might like one of these colors, or at least they're a place to start and you could go a little lighter or darker, depending on your preference:

Benjamin Moore--Aganthus Green


Sherwin Williams--Romaine, Ryegrass, Cucumber, Shagreen, or Jardin

I would go with a warm grey (more brown/green, less blue) like the tile backspash in this photo which seems similar to your colors. Otherwise, a pale yellow or grellow (greenish yellow) like the actual walls:

I want to repaint our kitchen, but I am having trouble choosing a paint color.

The floors are terra cotta colored porcelain tiles, like shown here: http://www.ebuild.com/articles/546766.hwx

Right now the walls are peach and I hate them. The wall color is too close to the cabinet color and doesn't really look good with terra cotta floors. I'm just not sure what would look good. Any suggestions?
