I'm a runner and could never do strength training to the extent that the trainer has me do it on my own. I saw him today for my solo and I wanted to kill him. He worked me over to hard, my shoulders were in complete muscle failure at the end. I would have never been that relentless on myself.

This is cheaper, healthier, and has more predictable results than plastic surgery! This is how I justify the expense.

That's $220/week... if you did that all year long, even skipping some, you're talking about close to $10k!

Wow.

Yes. Not cheap, but I work full time (as does my spouse) and I'm going to use a good chunk of it on me. It is also addicting to watch your body transform in your mid thirties into something even better than it was in my mid 20s.

My trainer also is very expensive, but he is great at what he does, not a second of that hour is wasted and by half way into a session I'm just about at collapse and somehow he keeps me going.

With mine, the hourly rate varies a little depending upon how many sessions you pay for up front (If you buy 12 sessions, you get a discount vs buying only 4 sessions, for example). It's one on one. Sometimes at my apt gym, other times outside with equipment. $35-45 per session, which are an hour each.

3 x week. I would never do the strength training without someone right there with me.

2x a week is the right pace and have done for a long time. I'm very fit cardio wise (run, etc) - but I need the weight training push with variety. If I drop down to 1x, I notice the difference quickly.

Just started and am doing once a week with "homework". I already run 4x a week and wanted to add weight training to my regimen. So, I meet with the trainer on one of my off running days and then do the homework 2 more times a week.

1 hour 3 times a week - dropping down to 1 hour two times a week in a month, now that I'm comfortable enough with the exercises to do them on my own other days.

3 times a week, 45 minutes to an hour each. But I'm trying to lose a good bit of weight. I also have to work out on my own time.

Once a week for 30 minutes and it is super intense. Mostly functional fitness moves versus machines

2x a week is sustainable for me

...how often do you do it? One, twice, three times a week? Thanks!
