Ignore the naysayers, cowboy boots are awesome if you can rock them with confidence. I got a pair secondhand in Texas hill country, and I wear them all the time in DC. Lucchese is a good brand.

Check out Sheplers.com for a wide selection across price points. As far as brand, what style of boot are you looking for? Agree with pp I really like the Lucchese boots, but to me they are more ornate. My boots are a little plainer/more functional looking. How are you planning to wear them? With jeans? A skirt?
I would recommend checking out several different brands to get a feel for your boot style and then choose the brand accordingly.

Currently in Jackson Hole. Family members bought Lucchese boots. Gorgeous! 300 and change per pair so they are not cheap but still fits your budget. Worth checking out.

Darling, the "D" in DCUM stands for District, not Dallas. We don't do cowboy boots here. Except for when a Texan is inaugurated as president.
