I agree with PP 21:54. At Ris, get the grilled octopus. It is so tender and succulent, definitely the best I've had it anywhere.

Tabard Inn is very pretty, great ambiance, but the food at Ris is way way better.

Thanks for your take. Maybe we'll do the Tabard Inn next winter. Any favorite plates, drinks, desserts at Ris ?

Totally different vibes. Do you like old and historic or cool and modern! I like them both, but Tabard Inn grabs me more in the winter - with the fireplace - or early fall or late spring, when it's comfortable to eat outside. It looks like next weekend might be cooler than this one, so you might get lucky with outside dining...but I really do like Ris. I think the food is better.

Which would you pick for a tasty dinner with a few friends. I tried Blue Duck Tavern, Palena, Cashions Eat Place, Sushi Taro but couldn't get a reservation for next Saturday at 7:00. Decided against Boqueria because I don't want all of us sitting on stools. If not Tabard Inn or Ris do you have any suggestions for a place likely to have a reservation?
