We try to use unscented litter since we also can't stand the smell of scented litter.

I'm also considering the purchase of an air purifier for the room in our basement where we keep the litterboxes.

I did see furnace filters with charcoal designed to reduce odors at Target last week.

My neighbor's cat died months ago, and I still smell it when I go over there. Yuck.

Our HVAC is in the attic. I do think its coming up through vents but old ones that were used for coal burning or something. I wonder if there is a way to block those.

Is it in the same room as your HVAC unit? Is your AC on? It's bringing up the smell through the ducts.

Could you try a different brand? We use World's Best, which is pretty inoffensive smelling.

We have the cat litter box in our basement and it is stinking up our entire first floor. It smells like (clean) cat litter constantly. Is there anything I can do about this? It is driving me crazy.
