My 14 yo DS was on the varsity tennis team this year. I think $10 for an hour of tennis would be too little. When he was younger, I paid his cousin at least $15 hour to play a full hour with him, maybe more.

In McLean 13 and 14 year olds can earn $25 per game umping Little League games. If they are behind the plate it is $50. The games are usually around 2 hours long. They get paid if at least one pitch has been thrown before rain cancellation. They get paid for the partial games made up after rain - so many games are shorter. DC got paid for three outs one time.

I assume you will be close by - like at your house. Don't assume a 14 year old boy knows certain things like

If you hear thunder you must bring come in the house, most boys think it is see lightning. Then you wait 30 minutes.
Waterbreak every 1/2 hour (80 degree day) or 15 minutes when it is really hot.

Sound like fun.

How much do you pay a babysitter? Then add in something for the additional expertise. Perhaps $20?.
